CEO and Founder – Janene Brenneman, RN, MBA
 Janene started her career as an RN in labor and delivery for eight years, and then worked in home health and medical hospital settings. In the 1980’s she decided to make a major career change, obtaining an MBA so she could follow in the footsteps of both her grandmothers who were very successful entrepreneurs.
Janene knew she needed to grow her business skills before taking on an independent adventure, so she entered the telecommunications business world for six years. Engaged in financial planning and analysis, she garnered promotions every two years, reaching the director level. Her achievements included:- Successful development of a ten-year plan used to quantify the company’s growth strategy and aid in three rounds of fundraising on Wall Street
- Financial analysis of a large variety of services and products
For the next three years she was engaged as a consultant in finance for two companies.
For several years, Janene took on the position of COO and CFO at a nonprofit dedicated to supporting mothers of preschoolers, MOPS International, Inc. She successfully:- Integrated business principles and processes into the nonprofit environment
- Was instrumental in growing revenue from $1.8M to $4M in four years
The idea for starting Wise Passage emerged from Janene’s frustrating five-year search for solutions to her own menopause-related symptoms, the halt of the WHI study in July 2002, and the extreme confusion among healthcare providers she observed at the North American Menopause Society’s conference in the fall of 2002. After spending a number of months documenting the need for Wise Passage’s services, she exited her job and since then has worked full-time on creating the company.
Janene’s passion is for women’s health and wellness in a holistic, integrated context, as well as providing jobs for women that offer flexible and meaningful work. She has three wonderful adult daughters, and has been married for three decades to a delightful man who is a psychotherapist and business leadership consultant.
